lol i hate having to throw food away, even if it’s spoiled or something - it’s just such a waste! emptying cupboards is always difficult as it’s then when all the goodies come out that you’ve been so good about not eating lol. goodluck!
I am the same way about food! I hate to throw anything away. I hope you enjoy your time at home. Good luck to you on trying to reach your mini-goal before you go. Just keep fighting and it can be done. Have a great day Lidecka!
So glad you will be with your loved ones for awhile, BUT I understand not throwing food away. I am a member of the clean plate gang. I now figure toss it or wear it. Takes a lot of nerve to throw away food. This country had the Great Depression in the 30’s. Your country had WW2. Food was so hard to get,we didn’t waste anything. Now it’s waste or waist. Hugs.
Wow! Great you get to spend time with your family. My entire family is in Ohio and I’m the only one in PA but it’s great to visit. Try not to fret too much on the potatoes (but they were good weren’t they lol) one of my favorites that I’ve given up for 2 months thus far. Anyway enjoy yourself and try not to think too much on diet just make smart choice and you’ll be fine! You should already be proud of yourself…I’m sure your a skinny little thing already lol SMILE!!! Just be happy enjoy your time with family and then get back to the real world!!! Don’t forget about us here….lol Have a great time!!!
I don’t have to worry about leftover food as my husband is a human garbage disposal and my son is a growing by leaps and bounds 11 year old and you can NEVER fill him up.
Have a great vacation and enjoy your family! If you’re adamant about reaching your goal weight by vacation time, I’m still a firm believer in that Phase 1 I mentioned before for 2 weeks. It’s working for me, and although I’ve had that pitiful brain fog syndrome I know it is only temporary and that the fat is starting to burn quickly. Also, if you choose to try it, please take a really good vitamin along with it.
Have a great time with the loved ones. I also agree that thowing food away is a sin. Though both my boyfriend and myself have thrown out junk food with no guilt. It is the healthy food that I care about. Sometimes I will make a curry stew with leftovers and freeze it in portions for another time. I know you will make good choices for yourself and if you continue to exercise there, you can indulge without guilt. No worries
Have a great time! Enjoy every minute, life is short and times with relatives can sometimes feel stressful in itself, but I have learned that the older you get the more precious the time is.
Potatoes are a trigger food for me, too. I have really cut down on sugars. Junk food is gone altogether. Then, on top of that, I am limiting potatoes, breads, and pastas each to once a week with carefully monitored portions. I tend to want to eat big portions of all of them, so I load up the plate with other things first. It doesn’t always work, but I don’t get down on myself if I eat more than I intend.
I am thinking about only weighing myself once a month. I haven’t decided yet, but it seems reasonable to me, since I KNOW that I am eating healthier and better - so I also KNOW that my scale is lying when it seems to say ”nothing has changed.”
I don’t want to feel condemnation for every slip up, I want this to be a happy, progressively healthier process, where I come away feeling better about myself - not a frustrating one - where I feel like the efforts that I make aren’t good enough..
Ah, the childhood teachings. I’ve had to re-train myself that “NO” I don’t have to finish everything on my plate. I hope you don’t have to many other carbs hanging around….if you do, don’t feel guilty about throwing them away or giving them to your flat mates.
Yes, I can relate to the childhood teachings. My mom now blames herself for my obesity. But I reassure her that I’m an ADULT and can make my own choices. I’m not 7 any more. I know you can reach your mini-goal in 2 weeks! I will be cheering for you!!!
